Kristin Faiella

Kristin Faiella obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheelock College in 1993 with certification to teach grades Pre-K-2, grades 1-6 and recently she obtained her Administration license Pre-K-6. She then went on to achieve her Master’s Degree in Education from Salem State University in 2009.  She also completed a certificate program for teaching history to English Language Learners at the University of Massachusetts. She began teaching in Chelsea Public Schools straight out of college and has never looked back! She has taught, Music (grades K-5), second grade, Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten over the course of a twenty-four year span. She currently teaches Pre-Kindergarten. During the summer, Kristin is the school site supervisor at the John Silber Early Learning Center for the Extended Day Program. Kristin truly loves the community in which she teaches, the families and the vision that Chelsea Public Schools has for their students.

She became a mentor four years ago. She recently completed the Mentoring in Action: Becoming a Qualified Mentor and Leader Course. She learned many strategies to help her become a better mentor. She is passionate about mentoring new teachers and sharing her love for this amazing vocation. Kristin was also selected for the 20/20 Vision Teacher Leadership Academy. Kristin hopes to learn from others in the academy and hopes that this class will give her the tools to become the leader and mentor who can make a difference in her school system.  Mentoring has helped her to reflect on possibilities for the future! She hopes to someday teach at the college level and transfer her knowledge and passion to a younger generation of teachers with the hope that they will love this amazing journey and career, as much as she does!
