Christine Cabral

After graduating from the University of Massachusetts in 1993, Christine Cabral began her career as a music teacher at Whitman-Hanson Regional School District. During her 10 years in Whitman-Hanson she worked with students in grades 6 – 12 teaching general music, chorus, and show choir. Christine has served as an assistant principal at Carver Middle High School for the past fifteen years. In addition to her role as assistant principal, Christine serves as the PBIS Building Coordinator, Advisor of the Anti-Defamation League’s World of Difference Peer Leadership Program, and District Mentor Coordinator.

As a District Mentor Coordinator, Christine has been working to develop and implement a supportive induction and mentoring program for new teachers for over 10 years. Always looking for new resources and materials to support her efforts to design a cohesive program, Christine participated in the Mentoring in Action: Becoming a Qualified Mentor and Leader Course. She is now in her second year incorporating the Mentoring in Action text into the mentor curriculum for both 1st year and 2nd year teachers. Christine also completed the Mindful Leadership in Action: Supporting and Retaining Effective Teachers Course. She enjoys sharing mindfulness strategies with students, teachers, mentors/mentees, administration, and her 10 year old daughter. Christine has had the privilege of working with and learning from many mentors, mentees, and lead teachers over the course of many years. She finds her work with the mentoring program to be one of the greatest rewards of her career. Christine is currently enrolled in the 20/20 Vision Teacher Leadership Academy and looks forward to learning from and being inspired by other mentors and leaders.
