Dighton
Amanda Ferreira
I am presently a 7th grade Math Teacher at Dighton Middle school in Massachusetts, where I have been teaching for the past 11 years. I am the grade level team leader, a position I have held for the past 8 years. While at Dighton Middle I have been involved in various task force teams and committees, such as school council, scheduling committee, and Math curriculum task force.
I started teaching right out of college, although not in a traditional pathway. I starting teaching in 2007 after graduating from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Psychology minor. I completed an Accelerated Post-baccalaureate program in teaching math in 2011, followed by a Master’s in teaching Math in 2015 from Bridgewater State University.
As a working mother of two I continuously try to find balance in my life to enjoy time with my family, improve my teaching technique and what I offer my students each year as well as expanding my own learning through various coursework. My vision as a leader is to be a positive influence in other’s lives, by providing guidance and support not only for teaching students in the classroom but also to improve the overall well being of the teachers in those classrooms.
