Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District
Christine Jackson
Christine Jackson began her career working in the pharmaceutical industry for seven years prior to staying home to raise her children. During that time she was a member of the Dighton PTO, school council, a classroom volunteer, and a substitute teacher in the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District. This experience led to a permanent position as a technology paraprofessional from 2000 to 2010. In this role she taught students and teachers technology which inspired her to pursue her Master’s degree in Middle School Humanities from Lesley University.
Christine has been teaching sixth grade social studies in the D-R district for the past eight years, and is currently the sixth grade team leader. She has been a member of the D-R Instructional Technology Team, Social Studies and ELA Curriculum Committees, and DMS School Council. Last year, she completed the Mentoring in Action course and is about to complete her first year as a mentor. She has always enjoyed teaching both children and adults from early on in her career. Through her education and experience, she understands the importance of mentoring in order to support and retain effective, mindful, successful teachers, whether they are just out of school, new to district, or a career changer, like her. She is excited to participate in the district’s mission of sustaining the Mentoring in Action program recently implemented while focusing on the social emotional needs of novice teachers and students.
