After leaving there, I taught at their sister school in Cambridge, Massachusetts, formerly known as North Cambridge Catholic High School. Both schools were part of the Cristo Rey network of schools, Catholic schools that empower underserved students by providing a holistic education that includes work experience and traditional schooling. I was moved by their mission then, and I am driven to include many of the lessons I learned as a new teacher there in my work as a mentor coordinator now. I currently lead Easton’s mentor program where I oversee all mentors and proteges, develop and deliver new teacher and mentor training sessions, and facilitate new teacher orientation. As a mother of two young boys, I continue to work toward achieving the work/life balance that we so often encourage our new teachers to seek. I am thrilled to be a part of the 20/20 vision through Mentoring in Action.
