I believe in the importance of mentoring and the leadership potential mentors have to support school culture and retain novice teachers. I am an experienced classroom teacher and former university administrator dedicated to supporting practitioners. I earned my doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education where I focused my research on mentoring and teacher leadership. I have published five books with Corwin with my newest one titled, Be A Legacy Teacher: Five Purpose-Filled Pathways to Inspire Late Career and Retiring Educators.
I am now a Legacy Teacher who is still inspired to share and encourage others to take on mentoring leadership roles. My journey is reflected in the content I have developed over the years.
Even though I created this video several years ago it still rings true for me and expresses my feelings about the importance of mentoring.
The resources, books, and podcasts all share my perspective and ideas for supporting teachers at all levels. This has been my career and life’s journey. I hope you will find value in the resources you find here. Reach out to me if you would like customized coaching for your district. mentoringinaction@gmail.com.
