Susan Warren is presently a 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at Dighton Middle School in Dighton, Massachusetts, where she has been teaching for the past 25 years. While teaching at Dighton Middle School, Susan has been a union co-president for the Dighton- Rehoboth Teachers’ Association, a Drama coach, Spelling Team advisor, Debate Team advisor, Student Newspaper advisor, Destination Imagination coach, Mentor Coordinator and ELA curriculum task force member. She will be leading the Mentoring in Action Induction program for the Dighton – Rehoboth Regional School District.
Susan has been a mentor coordinator at her school for the past decade and understands the importance of pairing qualified mentors with novice teachers in order to promote a supportive and collaborative experience for new teachers. After taking the Mentoring in Action course, she decided to take the lead role in organizing her fellow mentor coordinators to take the Mentoring in Action course. She hopes to facilitate the creation of a sound mentoring curriculum that will be aligned with evaluation standards as well as developing meaningful, mindful classroom practices that will benefit not only the novice teachers, their students, but also the mentors in the district as well.
